'Before the Devil Knows' is the debut single of Me and the Owls, released independently on October 22nd, 2021.

The song narrates a story of banditry from a distant time, but which perhaps still belongs to the people of Lucania, Basilicata.

"Before the devil knows where I lived yesterday, I'll find my home very soon today". These are the words of a brigand who must hide and elude capture in the mountains and the Apennines of Basilicata (southern Italy), and who must change his abode every night before "the devil" (the law) executes him.
